رئيس جامعة البترا يكرم الصحفي عبيدة الضمور ضمن برنامج تكريم الخريجين المتميزين

كرّم رئيس جامعة البترا الأستاذ الدكتور رامي عبد الرحيم خريج كلية الإعلام الصحفي عبيدة الضمور، تقديرًا لمسيرته المهنية المتميزة وإنجازاته الإعلامية البارزة على المستويين المحلي والعربي، وذلك ضمن برنامج عمادة شؤون الطلبة الهادف إلى تكريم خريجي الجامعة المتميزين الذين أسهموا في تعزيز حضور الجامعة وتمثيلها بصورة مشرّفة في مختلف المجالات.
وأكد رئيس الجامعة أن نجاحات خريجي جامعة البترا في مختلف القطاعات تمثل مصدر فخر واعتزاز للجامعة، وتعكس جودة مخرجاتها الأكاديمية وقدرتها على إعداد كفاءات مهنية مؤثرة في المجتمع.
ويُعد الضمور من الصحفيين الأردنيين البارزين؛ إذ حصل على درجة البكالوريوس في الصحافة والإعلام من جامعة البترا عام 2004، بعد إتمامه الثانوية العامة عام 2000، كما نال درجة الماجستير في الإعلام الحديث من معهد الإعلام الأردني.
ويعمل الضمور حاليًا مراسلًا صحفيًا في قناة المملكة منذ عام 2017، وكان من أعضاء الفريق المؤسس للقناة. كما مثّل قناة المملكة في استلام درع القوات المسلحة الأردنية – الجيش العربي تقديرًا لدور القناة في دعم الجهود العسكرية عام 2021.
وحصد الضمور العديد من الجوائز والتكريمات المهنية، من أبرزها جائزة الملك الحسين للإبداع الصحفي في أكثر من دورة، كان آخرها في عامي 2021 و2025، إضافة إلى جائزة المهرجان العربي للإعلام في تونس على مستوى الدول العربية عام 2023، إلى جانب عدد من الجوائز المتخصصة، منها جوائز المجلس الأعلى لحقوق الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، ومركز الحسين للسرطان، ومركز تمكين الأردني.
ويحمل الضمور عضوية نقابة الصحفيين الأردنيين، وبدأ مسيرته المهنية في مجال الإنتاج والعمل التلفزيوني منذ عام 2004 من خلال الشركة العربية للبث الإذاعي والتلفزيوني، حيث عمل منتجًا للأخبار من عمّان لصالح عدد من القنوات العربية والدولية، من بينها الجزيرة وأبوظبي والحرة، وغيرها من المؤسسات الإعلامية.
وتدرج الضمور في مناصبه المهنية حتى تولى إدارة الأخبار والعمليات الإخبارية في الأردن وثلاث عشرة دولة عربية وأجنبية، كما أسهم في تأسيس قناة الأردن اليوم ووكالة عرب 24، وعمل محررًا في موقع "خبرني"، ومراسلًا لعدد من القنوات التلفزيونية، من أبرزها قناة ATV والإخبارية السعودية والغد العربي، إضافة إلى التلفزيون الأردني، كما عمل مدربًا إعلاميًا معتمدًا لدى العديد من المؤسسات والجهات المتخصصة.
وحضر حفل التكريم عميد كلية الإعلام الأستاذ الدكتور علي النجادات، وعميد شؤون الطلبة الأستاذ الدكتور إياد الملاح، ومدير العلاقات العامة والدولية علاء الدين عربيات.
University of Petra President Honors Journalist Obaida Al-Dmour under the Distinguished Alumni Recognition Program
Professor Dr. Rami Abdel-Rahem, President of the University of Petra, honored journalist and University of Petra alumnus Obaida Al-Dmour in recognition of his distinguished professional career and outstanding achievements in the media sector at both the national and regional levels. The recognition came as part of the Deanship of Student Affairs’ Distinguished Alumni Recognition Program, which celebrates graduates who have made significant contributions in their fields and have represented the University with distinction.
Professor Dr. Abdel-Rahem emphasized that the accomplishments of University of Petra graduates across various sectors are a source of pride for the University and reflect the quality of its academic programs and its commitment to preparing influential professionals who contribute positively to society.
Al-Dmour is considered one of Jordan’s prominent journalists. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media from the University of Petra in 2004 after completing his General Secondary Education Certificate in 2000. He later obtained a Master’s degree in Modern Media from the Jordan Media Institute.
Since 2017, Al-Dmour has been serving as a correspondent for Al Mamlaka TV and was a member of the channel’s founding team. In 2021, he represented Al Mamlaka TV in receiving the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army Shield in recognition of the channel’s role in supporting national military efforts.
Throughout his career, Al-Dmour has received numerous awards and honors. Among the most notable are the King Hussein Award for Journalistic Creativity, which he won on multiple occasions, including in 2021 and 2025, as well as the Arab Media Festival Award in Tunisia in 2023 at the Arab regional level. He has also received awards from the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the King Hussein Cancer Center, and Tamkeen.
Al-Dmour is a member of the Jordan Press Association and began his career in television production and broadcasting in 2004 with the Arab Radio and Television Network (ART). He worked as a news producer based in Amman for several regional and international media organizations, including Al Jazeera, Abu Dhabi TV, Alhurra, and other Arab and international broadcasters.
He later advanced to leadership positions in news management and operations across Jordan and thirteen Arab and foreign countries. He also contributed to the establishment of Jordan Today TV and Arab 24 News Agency. In addition, he worked as an editor for Khaberni News Website and as a correspondent for several television channels, including ATV, the Saudi News Channel, Alghad Al Arabi, and Jordan TV. He has also served as a certified media trainer for numerous institutions and organizations.
The ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. Ali Al-Najadat, Dean of the Faculty of Media; Professor Dr. Iyad Al-Mallah, Dean of Student Affairs; and Alaa Al-Din Arabiyat, Director of Public and International Relations.
